Line of best fit:
The line that best first a set of datapoints. The best fit refers to the fact that
discrepancies between the points and the line are minimised. It is described by gradient and intercept.

Linefitting:
Also called regression. A method that finds the best line through a set of
plotted points; a simple (and economical) way of describing th relationship
between predictor and outcome variables.

Log:
Logarithm: also called the exponent. Expresses a number as a power of 10 or e.
